My adored sister Susie passed away from this life on October 5th. There is one amazing photograph of her that speaks many many more than a thousand words: Dressed in an elegant black jacket, she is sitting in a dark restaurant, about to blow out her birthday candle; a Maxfield Parrish patch of blue shines high above her shoulder. She has the oft-seen, direct, beautiful, sparkling, messaged look in her eyes, with a self-assured radiant smile that communicates everything she ever wanted to express: Happiness comes from contentment to be who we are. Sue attained, from a challenging life, a hard-won balance of patience and god-given grace, which she was able to share with her family, her friends, her neighbors, her sisters and a pup named Bunny, who is now happily thriving with a new perfect owner.
