Stillness to wait for healing has revealed bird sightings in Hopewell:
First, two sweet birds came to bathe in the small water pool here at Fern Hill Farm–just a few feet from my window. They resembled a cross between bluebirds and robins. Unable to identify them in Peterson’s guide, I called Princeton’s very own “Dr Bird” who said they were likely indigo buntings.
Soon afterward, since our recently cut hay field has provided a ready meal of mice, I noticed that one of the hovering birds was much larger than the others. It was a bald eagle circling the field until it split off and headed into the western sky.
